Pompey's Pillar is an ancient Roman monument that consists of a single column standing in the middle of Alexandria over a rocky hill. This legendary pillar was made from red granite and it was believed to be built around 300 AD and towered almost 30 meters.
Sultan Qaitbey had planned and constructed this stunning fortress in the 14th century as the protector element of the city and defended it against the advance of the Ottoman Army. The current structure of the Qaitbay citadel isn't the original since it was completely affected during some of the British attacks on Alexandria in 1882 then it was reconstructed within the early years of the 20th century.

It's the first natural lake found in the world and one of the largest lakes in Africa. It's amazing to know that the lake is not connected to any sea and it covers almost 53,000 acres in Faiyum Down.
They are located 30 km north of Faiyum which contains two marvelous temples dating back to the Ptolemaic Era. The design of the two temples is identical to the temples constructed in the New Kingdom with the same structure and elements.
It's situated in the middle of the Faiyum Desert and it contains two large pure water lakes running in two different attitudes then they meet on a stunning waterfall.
